Salmon a bit scratchy but rockfishing wide open

Back on the water sport fishing yesterday after almost a week of commercial salmon trolling on the other boat. Started off with a nice 14 lber on the bottom off Table Bluff then another that came unbuttoned then a dry spell. We went looking for salmon in all the places I thought they could be and found some more shakers over the Eel Canyon and a big silver down off Centerville Beach but by noon we only had the one nice salmon in the box. We ran the 5 more miles to the False Cape and were greeted by biting rockfish of great size. We had a couple lings and a couple jumbo vermillion.  It was nice to finish the day with some wide open action. Back to commercial salmon for a few days then will concentrating on Pacific Halibut until the end of July but am looking all booked up till the 31st. I will be after salmon, rockfish, and tuna in Aug and have plenty days still available.
