Well, we hit the water again today to chase salmon for our home port opener out of Humboldt Bay. We ran to the north and out to the outside and looked for life the whole way. We saw some sign here and there but not the best. We put in on some bait balls and birds in 38 fathoms off of Manila and had a quick bite that came off at the boat. We worked south looking for greener pastures and picked up a couple along with some missed opportunities. We finally ran to where the other guys had found a spot of biters early on. We worked the area for a steady pick over the next couple hours and had quite a few more lost fish. We got limits for the light load today but only got one fish for the captain. It was great to be back at bonking salmon, and boy, dinner was great tonight.
